What nonprofits call us about

TechBit Solutions supports nonprofit organizations across the El Paso area: service providers, foundations, faith organizations, and the small teams that run programs on grant funding.

The calls tend to be about donor data, a grant report that has to be produced from records nobody can find, a volunteer who still has access a year later, or software costs that have grown without anyone deciding they should.

What we support

Nonprofit pricing on software

This is the fastest money we save most nonprofits, and it is money that goes straight back into the program.

We check eligibility, handle the applications, and remove the licenses you are paying for and not using. Organizations frequently find they have been paying commercial rates for years because the person who set it up did not know to ask.

Donor data and grant reporting

Donor records are the most sensitive thing most nonprofits hold, and the consequence of losing them is not a fine, it is the relationship.

Grant reporting has a different problem. The report is due, the data is required, and it lives in three systems and a spreadsheet on somebody's laptop. We help get those records into one place with backups behind them, so producing a report is an afternoon rather than a fortnight.

Volunteers, turnover and shared logins

Nonprofits run on people who come and go, and access rarely leaves when the person does.

The common shortcut is a shared login that everybody uses. It is understandable and it removes any ability to know who did what, which matters a great deal on the day something goes wrong.

Response and hours

Programme delivery does not run nine to five, particularly for organizations providing direct services. We answer from 5am to 8pm Mountain, and the after-hours line at (915) 253-9757 reaches a person.

We deliver support in Spanish, which for organizations serving this community is not optional.

Getting started

The first conversation is usually about licensing, because it is where the quickest saving is. See managed IT services and pricing.

Questions we get asked

Do you charge nonprofits less?

Ask us. What we can say without qualification is that we will make sure you are claiming every nonprofit discount the software vendors offer, which is often worth more than a discount on our own time. We would rather get an El Paso nonprofit onto the licensing and grants it already qualifies for than simply discount our own invoice, because that saving is usually the larger of the two.

What is the Microsoft nonprofit grant?

Microsoft provides a number of Microsoft 365 licenses free to eligible nonprofits, and discounts beyond that. Many organizations that qualify are paying full price because nobody applied. We will check your eligibility and handle the application.

Our board is worried about donor data. What should we tell them?

That you know where it is, who can reach it, and what happens if it is lost. We will put those three answers in writing so the board has a document rather than a reassurance.

We have more volunteers than staff. Is that a problem?

It is a manageable one. The mistake is giving volunteers staff accounts, or worse, a shared login everybody uses. Volunteers should have their own limited access that ends when they stop volunteering.

We cannot afford a full managed contract. Can you help anyway?

Tell us the budget and we will tell you honestly what it buys and what it leaves exposed. That is more useful than a quote you cannot accept.
